Train Chair

Our woodwork repair specialists and upholsterers were tasked with restoring and upholstering this fantastic piece of furniture. Steeped in history, this chair was pulled from an old train carriage and saved from being dismantled.

To restore the furniture to its former glory, we first needed to carry our repairs to the frame. This would not only ensure its stability, but it would also setup the chair for traditional upholstery to take place.

Once the woodwork was completed, it was time to traditionally upholster this armchair. Using this method increases the longevity of the chair and maintains value. These are important factors when restoring older pieces of furniture. The client chose a firm blue fabric with gold leaf effect to finish.
